📅 What Month Is It? Let’s Learn With BFiG!
This week’s update comes straight from BFiG Busumbala Nursery School — and it’s full of smiles, singing and a little bit of good old-fashioned gardening!
Our youngest learners have been busy practising the months of the year, and it’s impossible not to grin as they all join in. From January to December, they’re giving it their best with huge enthusiasm and plenty of proud voices. It’s wonderful to see how quickly the children are developing their language skills and confidence in the classroom.

A huge thank you to our teacher, Mariama “Sibo” Fatty, for capturing this week’s learning. She always manages to send over videos that show just how lively, fun and educational the atmosphere is at Busumbala Nursery School. Without her commitment, we wouldn’t get these magical little windows into the daily life of our pupils.
🌱 Meanwhile… Lamin Battles the Weeds!
While the children recite the months, someone else has been getting busy outside. School Manager Lamin Barrow has rolled up his sleeves for a spot of weed killing around the school grounds.
Why does this matter? In The Gambia’s climate, weeds grow rapidly, especially after rain. Clearing them not only keeps the grounds looking tidy but also makes room for trees, flowers and future playground space. Every small job brings us one step closer to building a school that will flourish year after year.
