🌅 “I Saama!” — A Morning at BFiG Busumbala Nursery School
“I Saama!” There’s something truly special about the very start of the school day at BFiG Busumbala Nursery School. Before the lessons begin, before the singing and the learning, the day starts with smiles, voices, and a beautiful Mandinka greeting that sets the tone for everything that follows.
Our first video captures this moment perfectly as children arrive at school, full of energy and excitement, calling out “I saama!” — the Mandinka phrase for “Good morning.” It’s a simple greeting, but it carries warmth, respect, and a real sense of community.
👋 “I Saama, Uncle Lamin!”
Front and centre in the video is School Manager Lamin Barrow, warmly welcoming each child as they arrive. To the children, he’s not just Lamin — he’s “Uncle Lamin.”
You can see it in their faces and hear it in their voices. Each greeting is met with a smile, a kind word, and genuine care. These small daily interactions say so much about the atmosphere at the school — safe, familiar, and full of trust.

Another video shows the other end of the school day, with children joyfully calling out “Fo saama!” — “See you in the morning.”
It’s a lovely moment. Short, cheerful, and full of anticipation for the next day. These words reflect routine, stability, and belonging — things every child deserves, and things this school works so hard to provide.
