Hygiene is Important: We Need A Tap

BFiG Busumbala Nursery School desperately needs its own tap. Visit Christine Sylla is fundraising for Building Futures in The Gambia (justgiving.com) to find out more. We need a tap.
Currently, the compound next door (seen in the photo) is providing us with drinking water free of charge. However, it’s important to remember how water provides vital hygiene for schools in West Africa.
The nursery school children have drinking water but then have a cup which needs washing. The school has three toilets but there are no immediate facilities for handwashing. Food is provided later in the morning by the local community but the children again have no easy way to wash their hands before eating. And then there’s the matter of cleaning the utensils.
These are things which we all take for granted when we’re at home with our hot and cold running mixer taps. But we all know the importance of clean hands due to the recent pandemic.
Friend of the charity Chris Sylla has set up a donation page with the aim of providing a tap for BFiG Busumbala Nursery School children. Please visit Christine Sylla is fundraising for Building Futures in The Gambia (justgiving.com), watch the video with ‘Uncle’ Lamin Barrow and then make a donation.
Thank you.
