Busumbala Nursery School – October 2020 Update

Lamin Barrow has recently met up with the Busumbala Village Development Committee to discuss the opening of Busumbala Nursery School. One of the things which they discussed was the tables and chairs.

Currently, we have enough tables and chairs for classroom 1. These have all be very kindly donated to us by the Aid2Gambia charity (visit them on the web at https://www.aid2gambia.org/) and by Baboucarr Jobe – the Head Teacher at Bijilo Nursery School.

However, because the chairs and tables have come from a variety of different sources, they are all different heights. They were originally used by a variety of different age range children. And so the VDC asked if they could all be made an appropriate height for nursery aged children.

For Lamin Barrow, no problem is too great. And so, with a small amount of funding from BFiG, he was able to find a local metal worker who was able to reduce all the tables to a nursery aged appropriate height.

Lamin Barrow needs to be thanked for his hard work transporting the tables a chair to and fro from one location to another. Look out for another update very soon showing the furniture back in situ in the nearly ready for opening classroom 1. Watch this space!
