Pupil Registration Begins at Busumbala – November 2020

Today, Monday 23 November 2020, Busumbala Nursery School opened its doors for pupil registration. Interest from local families is so strong that registration will continue tomorrow, too.
It is heartening to see such enthusiasm for nursery education in the village. We are already thinking about how to provide places for more children.

Plans for Classroom 2
With such strong interest in places, we are keen to complete Classroom 2 so that the school can eventually accommodate children in Nursery Grade 2 as well as Nursery Grade 1.
There are a few more building tasks to tackle. The floor needs plastering and smoothing, the walls need painting inside and out, and we will also need to find additional classroom furniture. We hope those finishing jobs will not be too expensive, and Lamin Barrow is preparing a quotation for the work.
Next steps towards opening
The Busumbala Village Development Committee is due to meet again this Wednesday, 25 November, to finalise further details. We are hopeful that classes can begin next Monday, 30 November.
We are grateful to everyone who has helped bring the school this far. Supporters can help with the work on Classroom 2 by making a donation to BFiG; even a small regular contribution can make a real difference.
